After seeing the damage done by the flash flood brought by Bagyong Sendong to my hometown, Cagayan de Oro City. I can't help but imagine how some people who have lost their homes or families would celebrate Christmas... surely there is someone out there who is just like this girl... who probably lost everything and is also lost as to what to do with her life full of grief wrought by a single catastrophe.

More than 1,000 people around Northern Mindanao (mostly from Cagayan de Oro City and Iligan City) were killed during the flash flood and damages would amount to hundreds of millions of Philippine pesos...

I am thankful that nothing bad happened to my family. We were very lucky to have lived far enough from the river and shoreline not to get washed away by the rushing waters full of debris from the mountains. I was also not in my hometown when the flash flood occured for I was still in Cebu City preparing to go home.

It's a great drawing, but unfortunally I must say that it appears to me as if the girl is slightly smiling - which somehow ruins the impact on me to be 100% concerned and touched ._.

Still, a tragedy what happend. Good to know that you and your family were and are safe.

It just hit me that way...
with the girl smiling in the front, this picture (for me) cast forth a calm and relaxing feeling, like "Everything is/will be ok".
If she would've looked more "broken", it would've impacted differently, as giving me a overwhelming sadness and caring...
So... I thought I should share this :o
